White Cap is another of the Hacker designs from the mid 1940's. The plans
generated by Sandy Point Boat Works were inspired by the lines published by
John Hacker. This boat is a triple cockpit 25 foot speed boat that will turn any
head.
The following is an excerpt from the Mr. Hacker notes that come with the plans.
"A SPEEDY runabout which has been designed particularly to accommodate
a six cylinder engine developing approximately 45 HP at 1400 rpm. This little
boat, while it is only 25 feet long, will prove to be a very smart little craft with
this engine. It is expected that' speeds of 23 or 24 M.P.H. will be quite common,
and with this machine and boat it should be easily attainable. The hull has
been carefully designed and the material specified is the moat suitable for the
various purposes called for."

This boat was originally
designed to be planked over
frame and that is still the method
of quality built runabouts today.
All Materials and methods are
described in the package.
Newer techniques are easily
applied and many suggestions
are outlined in the plans.
This boat will take you and 6 or 7 of
your favorite friends on a cruise and
with this boat you will have no
shortage of friends. The classic hull
design allows for a small economical
motor while still attaining speeds to
get you there now. There will be no
mistaking you when you pull up to a
friends dock or that waterside café.
This boat would cost upwards of
$100K used. You can build her for less
than a fifth of that
When covering your boat with fiberglass, don't forget
the epoxy matters. Use our kits and get great support.
We have put together epoxy kits for White Cap. Included with each kit is the
hardener, fillet resins, layup resins, Wood flour and calibrated pumps. If you are
working in temperatures between 40 and 65 degrees then order the Medium
epoxy kit. If you are working above 65 degrees then order the Slow epoxy kit.
Slow Kit for higher temperatures
Medium Kit for lower temperatures
